To start, you first choose a meat (one or combo) next your vegetables (Carrot,onion,pepper, many more), then your sauce, and last is your grain (stream rice, fried, noodle)

Taste: 8/10 – I love spicy food and the food I order was hotter then I first thought it would be. The fried rice was chewy, the amount of meat to rice ratio 45/55, which is a almost perfect ratio suited for the american taste. I do like more rice then meat but I won’t complain since there lot of meat! Overall, it was good. A bit on the sweet side but guess that cause of the sauce had them put in. Maybe if I can find the right sauce, the taste would improve greatly.

Of course, there is anime that is still airing from the spring season that I will continue watch like Hetalia Axis Power, Cross Game, Valkyria Chronicles to just name a few. 2009 have been pretty good so far with anime and hope it stay that way till K-on season 2 come back!

I wanted to go ahead and get this review our of the way because I love this series too much. So prepare for an extremely biased review.

First off the gameplay for the series is fun which is the reason I got into it in the first place. It’s simple, hit the marks at the correct timing to the beat. Drag on the lines when they come up. Otherwise you have the most non-rhythmic part of the game, spinners, which are also one of the most annoying as you rise through difficulty levels. Build a combo by hitting the marks adding another multiplier for each one. Keep these and keep hitting combos so as to keep your meter up. Points are in 50s, 100s and 300 for an almost perfect hit. The strategy is to keep a high combo until the end of the song, because spinner points are also multiplied. Missing a beat early hurts less than missing one late in the song. Of course you may not care about points and just want to beat every song.

Despite the very simple gameplay the higher up difficulties are real challenges. Especially the hardest difficulty where you always play as the women cheer leaders(or agents). This is where only machines can get S ranks…or at least I believe them to be machines. So if you want a challenge then you will definitely find one after the first difficulty. Though if one wants to just play with free time there lower difficulties are there to provide plenty of fun, though I would use earphones if in public.

This game also shines in humor. It is very cartoonish, and manga like in style. The story of each level is told in comic book form ending in a giant scream of Help, or Ouedan. Exaggerated facial expressions, ridiculousness, and strangeness in general make the game what it is. Problems range from realistic problems of getting into college, cleaning up a ramen shop, or getting a pregnant woman to the hospital, all the way to ridiculous of helping Cleopatra force her slaves to make a pyramid so she can loose weight, helping a retired baseball player fight a giant golem or helping a group of middle-aged fangirls rescue an Idol. A game has also never made loosing and doing badly feel so good as your screw ups may leader to different endings, such as finding secret plans to build a refrigerator instead of a car.

For Elite Beat Agents though I have to say the music choice wasn’t my favorite personally. I’m not a big music person myself, but I didn’t like some choices, and most of the covers were honestly not the best. The final song Jumpin’ Jack Flash was noticeable in sounding completely different than the original. I mean you can actually understand the cover in the game. I can not judge the Japanese version really with music choice and covers as I have not heard the original of many of the songs and my opinion is mostly good, in a “I can’t understand it so I don’t have the ears to see what is wrong” sort of way. For all I know the Japanese has the same gripes of the song choices.

Overall I would give the series a 9/10. I love it and found it addicting. It might not be the games for you, but if you love the more quirky rhythm games then this is a game for you. Or if you like quirky games in general, and I hope they eventually give it a new english release.

If you are used to Guitar Hero and Rock Band it might not be the best series for you.

On a smaller note there is a recreation of it called Osu! for PC. It’s not as fun as playing with a touch screen but I’d recommend it for fans of the series. Plus no need to worry about covers of songs since you can use whatever song you want.

When Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World came out for the Nintendo Wii a couple month ago. I got it the first day and play the hell out of it cause I was fan of the first game. Sadly, I wasnt please playing the 2nd as the first but now they are making a whole new “Tales of”, Only for the Nintendo Wii. Tales of Graces! Which is said to be a whole whopping 70 hr plus gameplay!?? Does that mean playing the whole story without side mission!? The battle system also gonna be know as said, there will be 2 different fighting style for the A and the B button.

Currently, the game is stated to be release in Japan this winter.

(hope they bring this game to America soon, Tales of Graces FOR THE WIN!!)

God of War 3, uncharted, Metal Gear, and a game that could be a Mario Kart killer!??

Nintendo:

I was kind disappointment for Nintendo this year.They didn’t feel as exciting as they was back in 2006 E3. Wish they could have done better.

Mario galaxy 2,  4 player mario game on wii, Golden Sun DS,  A new Metroid call Metroid: The other M. Made by the same people who make Dead or Alive, Team Ninja!?. Wii fit plus… sure.

Mircosoft:

This year, they did alright. Two new Halo game coming out this year and 2010.  Left 4 Dead 2, Dead rising, Mass effect 2 , etc.

Other thing that interest me:

No more Hero 2, Bayonetta, Kingdom Heart, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and many more.

Really, what I am really looking forward to is…. FINAL FANTASY 13!!! Coming out next year! Also coming out next year… Final Fantasy 14 for PS3 and PC!?? Aka next installment to the MMO Final fantasy 11.. Hope they fix all the con of FFXI and add a nice pvp system in FFXVI.
